About The Position

The Assistant General Manager acts as a direct support to the General Manager with the main focus being service staff performance, quality of service, and immaculate facilities. The Assistant General Manager is responsible for ensuring all Service employees are performing optimally through ongoing coaching. The Assistant General Manager will drive inside sales promotions by interacting with guests in the Brewhouse every shift.

Requirements

  • You are outgoing, personable and fun
  • You possess 2+ years of Restaurant/Tavern/Bar Management experience; you possess a passion for driving sales and customer service and satisfaction
  • You possess a basic understanding of financial terminology and concepts
  • You have the ability to be sales driven while being social, and have strong customer service skills
  • You possess or are willing to attain Serve it Right, Food Wise, and First Aid certifications
  • You have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations
  • You possess personal organization and time management skills
  • You have inherent coaching, leading and motivational skills
  • You are an adaptable and creative problem solver and decision maker
  • You handle stress and a fast-paced environment well
  • You are kind, patient, reasonable and show empathy
  • You work well in a dynamic team environment
  • You have the ability to work urgently while remaining calm
  • You have a flexible work schedule and will work managing shifts during peak sales hours i.e., evenings and weekends
  • You will touch as many tables as possible

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the behaviours and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s and The Canadian Brewhouse’s vision, mission and safety principles to make a difference in guest’s lives
  • Oversee the front of house functions ensuring labour budgets are being met
  • Be responsible for “4-wall” sales; promote in-house promos, fundraisers, events and more with guests at tables and at the bar
  • Manage secret shoppers, review responses, and provide feedback where required
  • Regularly communicate feedback and recognition to all hourly employees, and provide continuous coaching
  • Assist in onboarding, orientation, and on-going performance management for all Service employees
  • Be responsible for maintenance of all décor and furniture and cleanliness of service facilities
  • Complete any facilities-based orders
  • Handle Service maintenance issues such as game function, washrooms, interior and exterior facilities standards
  • Assist in planning, setup and running of in-house events
  • Audit promo tabs/voids/discounts including bar spill, kitchen spill, etc. on POS during shifts
  • Be responsible for completing daily, weekly, and periodic administrative paperwork, recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Follow the procedures set out in the Health and Safety manual
  • Perform other duties, as assigned
