The Assistant General Counsel is a mid-level attorney in Exelon’s Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) practice area. Under the supervision of a managing or supervising attorney, this role provides full legal services to clients and performs non-routine legal assignments, including legal research and preparation of contracts and briefs. The attorney handles broad and moderately complex matters involving FERC regulations and policies, supports Exelon’s representation in agency proceedings and relevant litigation, and advises clients on legal and FERC compliance matters. The role supports ongoing relationships and matters involving Business Units and outside counsel. It requires developing an understanding of assigned clients’ businesses and business philosophies, working strategically with Business Units to advance Company objectives and manage risk, and preparing and revising budgets and early matter assessments for matters involving outside counsel. The attorney is also expected to learn and use AI-enabled tools for research, drafting, and analysis while applying sound professional judgment.
