About The Position

Electric Boat is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve as a critical team member in support of the nation’s premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Connecticut or must be able to obtain licensing in Connecticut
• Minimum of 4 years practicing law in either a law firm, government agency, or in-house specializing in transactions
• Experience negotiating Government Contracts and strong familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
• Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearance
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Innovative problem-solver with superior collaborative and interpersonal skills
• Ability to identify and recommend risk mitigation strategies in business transactions
• Must be flexible, detail-oriented, proactive, and organized in order to prioritize and support multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

• Engage regularly with various Electric Boat functional groups including: Contracts, Program Office leads, and Finance
• Participate in negotiations of multi-billion-dollar Government Contracts as well as significant vendor contracts, and provide comprehensive counsel throughout performance of those contracts
• Support drafting and submission of Requests for Equitable Adjustment, Claims, and associated litigations
• Collaborate with business leads in response to external audits (e.g. DCMA, GAO)
• Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements
• Actively manage Outside Counsel
• Other responsibilities as may be assigned
