About The Position

The incumbent will represent the agency, its Board, and agency personnel in legal proceedings and will be responsible for a wide array of legal issues to include employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, department investigations, legislation, policies, ethics, and litigation in all state and federal courts along with other tribunals.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
• A license to practice law in State of Oklahoma
• An active membership with the Oklahoma Bar Association
• Seven years of legal experience including two years of litigation, or agency-defined experience in the practice of law e.g. tax, or supervisory experience
• Willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position
• Possess a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Represent the agency, its Board, and agency personnel in legal proceedings.
• Handle a wide array of legal issues including employment law, constitutional law and civil rights, EMTALA, mental health law, department investigations, legislation, policies, and ethics.
• Conduct litigation in all state and federal courts and other tribunals.
