About The Position

This position manages and handles all legal matters within an area of specialization, and may include focused emphasis on litigation, regulatory, operational, or compliance issues. The ultimate objective of this position is to minimize the legal exposure of the Company in any and all legal matters.

Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Twelve years of experience as an attorney.
• The completion of a Juris Doctor or equivalent and required certifications for practicing law.
• Law license from a state bar association.
• J.D. is required.
• People management/supervisory experience.
• High degree of oral and written communications skills.
• Negotiation skills.
• Analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in managing auto liability, general liability, or product liability claims and lawsuits.
• Knowledge of legal issues involved in auto liability, general liability, or product liability claims and lawsuits including expertise in insurance policy analysis and contractual indemnification issues.
• Demonstrated familiarity with medical-legal issues related to auto liability, general liability, and product liability claims.

Responsibilities

• Manages auto liability, general liability, and product liability claims and lawsuits.
• Supervises and manages outside counsel.
• Assesses risk and exposure and works internally and externally to minimize the exposure.
• Selects, develops and motivates assigned staff.
