About The Position
Join the team at J.W. Jung Seed Company, an industry leader in mail-order and retail gardening. With six garden centers across Wisconsin, Jung Seed Company ships thousands of quality seeds, plants, and accessories to all 50 states. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Garden Center Manager to assist with the daily operations of our Randolph, WI Store. This is a great opportunity to help lead a dedicated team, provide exceptional customer service, and contribute to the growth of a thriving retail garden center.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Experience with POS systems, inventory control, purchasing, and database management
- Ability and willingness to work nights and weekends
- Team player with a positive, hands-on attitude
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, soils, insecticides, and disease related topics preferred
- Previous supervising or management experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist the Garden Center Manager in planning, ordering, and displaying plants and other products
- Assist with training new employees
- Assist with maintaining product quality through watering, trimming, and fertilizing.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, organized and visually appealing environment - both indoors and outdoors
- Providing excellent customer service throughout the entire buying experience
- Assist with customer service issues when necessary
- Assist with unloading merchandise from trucks
