About The Position

Riggs Washington DC is seeking an Assistant Front Office Manager to join their team. This leadership role will work directly with the Front Office Manager to ensure the highest levels of Guest Service. The position supervises Guest Service Agents, Bell Staff, and Valet. The Assistant Front Office Manager will participate in hotel management meetings, financial reviews, guest service index analysis, VIP Guest focus, and problem-solving for colleagues and guests.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years hotel front desk experience
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Possess poise, elegance and a calm demeanor in all situations
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Flexible schedule is required to meet the needs of the business

Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests in a warm, personable, sincere, and friendly manner.
  • Provide guests with requested information (i.e., hotel information, nearest spa, etc.).
  • Supervise the efficient operations of reception, including check-in/out procedures.
  • Communicate relevant information to the Front Office Director and the Concierge.
  • Ensure Front Office teams are fully prepared to work for their shift.
  • Oversee front desk operations, ensuring efficiency, service quality, and accuracy of check-lists.
  • Monitor and approve timecards of hourly employees.
  • Assist in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations of front desk staff.
  • Manage daily financial reports, reservations handling, and room revenue tracking.
  • Handle guest complaints that require managerial intervention.
  • Work on improving efficiency through system enhancements and procedural updates.
  • Manage reservations and ensure all payments are collected in a timely manner (no-shows, cancellations, VCCs).
  • Attend weekly Operations meetings.
  • Support the Front Office Manager in strategic initiatives and departmental improvements.
  • Drive the team in guest engagement to ensure review activity (Tripadvisor, Revinate).
