About The Position

OWL Services is seeking a motivated and dependable Assistant Foreman to join our construction team in Butler, PA. The Assistant Foreman will work closely with the Construction Foreman to lead and coordinate the construction and installation of petroleum equipment. This position requires someone who can work independently while also thriving in a fast-paced team environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on petroleum construction experience, equipment operating skills, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to maintaining safe and efficient job sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of petroleum construction experience.
  • Experience operating Skid-Steer Loaders, Excavators, and Backhoes.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to acquire applicable state-specific AST/UST certifications.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Availability to work overtime and occasional out-of-town assignments.
  • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment testing, including skills testing, background checks, and drug testing.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • CDL Class A.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead crews with the Construction Foreman and delegate tasks to construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Assist the Foreman with daily operations and direct workers on assigned tasks.
  • Train laborers to ensure proper techniques and installation requirements are followed accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure safe work and housekeeping practices are followed at all times.
  • Verify work in progress for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Document daily activities, materials and parts used, testing, inspections, and job-site visitors.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with crew members, vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Help coordinate the timely flow of materials, supplies, and subcontractor work.
  • Perform concrete work, including framing, pouring, mixing, and finishing.
  • Operate heavy equipment to excavate ditches and tank holes and assist with equipment installation.
  • Travel to job sites, including occasional overnight travel.
  • Perform additional reasonable duties as requested by management.
