26-27 TCHS Assistant Football Coach
About The Position
The Assistant Football Coach will promote sports within the schools and community, plan and organize assigned athletic programs, and supervise practices. This role involves teaching fundamental skills, team play, strategy, and the rules of the game, while also emphasizing good sportsmanship and self-control. The coach will ensure participant eligibility, including insurance and parental consent, and serve as a positive role model providing emotional support, patience, and guidance to student athletes. Responsibilities include conducting learning experiences for small groups and recommending necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms for the safety and welfare of the athletes.
Requirements
- Certified Kentucky Department of Education certification
- Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check(s) as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Must meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy
- Classified High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check(s) as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Must meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy
- Knowledge of fundamentals of various sports.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
- Ability to assist coaches on one or more sports.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Promote sports in the schools and community.
- Plan the assigned athletic program.
- Organize and supervise practices.
- Teach individual fundamental skills, team play, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
- Teach good sportsmanship and self-control.
- Check eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
- Provide students a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
- Conduct learning experiences, with small groups of student athletes.
- Recommend the purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate for the health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
