About The Position

This role is responsible for supporting the Financial Center Manager in leading and managing branch operations. The Assistant Financial Center Manager will embody the Credit Union's core values, provide vision and guidance to the branch staff, and ensure superior member service. This position involves both leadership and operational responsibilities, contributing to the achievement of sales and service goals while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university.
  • Experience networking in the community.
  • Experience calling on local businesses to introduce the Credit Union.
  • Excellent leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and redirection of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Embody and ensure direct reports embody the Credit Union’s core values of Trust, Integrity, Teamwork, and Making a Difference.
  • In partnership with the FCM, provide vision, enhance relationships, drive results, and serve as a principled role model for the branch staff.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, training, motivation, and input to the branch staff to ensure they meet and exceed service standards and achieve performance goals.
  • Actively promote and participate in a sales and service culture consistent with the Credit Union’s business plan goals.
  • Ensure staff is cross-selling and meeting established goals.
  • Ensure branch personnel provide a superior level of member service and that member complaints are effectively resolved in a timely manner.
  • Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Credit Union’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, evaluating and holding staff accountable for performance, providing input on performance reviews, and addressing employee problems.
  • Prepare and maintain branch staff work schedules, including approving all time through the payroll system.
  • In consultation with the Financial Center Manager and Human Resources, promote, transfer, dismiss or change the status of branch staff.
  • Responsible for the operations of the branch in partnership and in the absence of the Financial Center Manager.
  • Ensure branch sales goals are met by meeting personal sales goals and coaching staff to meet their goals.
  • Create learning objectives and sales goals achievement initiatives for the branch.
  • Serve as an operational reference to branch staff by providing coaching, direction, and assistance in resolving member problems.
  • Analyze and approve, deny, or rescind loans as appropriate, with decision authority on loans outside normal lending guidelines.
  • Supervise the branch in the areas of balancing of cash, travelers’ checks, money orders, bonds, deposits, statements, computer totals and obtaining operating cash, coordinating with the Accounting Department.

  • Make exceptions to policy as appropriate and within established authority.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to all internal controls and security procedures.
  • Follow and ensure branch staff follows policy and procedures related to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD) daily.
  • Maintain integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with or regarding credit union members and their accounts; comply with privacy act directives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be available to work overtime as requested.
