About The Position

The Assistant Feed Mill Manager job is a management position responsible for directly supervising feed mill employees and operations in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or four to ten years related experience and/or training is required for this position.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
Planning, assigning, and directing work.
Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Utilize software to mix and route feed as needed.
Perform basic mechanical tasks including preventative maintenance.
Prioritize and accomplish tasks efficiently.
Provide production updates at conclusion of each shift.
Work with transportation department to improve efficiency.
Direct and monitor preventative maintenance program.
Make recommendations on replacement, additions, or deletions of facilities and equipment when needed and/or economically justified.
Ensure efficient operation of mill equipment to maximize production while meeting quality requirements.
Maintain equipment in safe operating condition.
Maintain a clean and orderly facility.
Inventory and Product Handling.
Coordinate grain sampling and receiving activities (rail and truck).
Quality Control Responsibilities.
Complete manufacturing reports for designated shift.
Receive & process incoming ingredients.
Other duties as assigned.
