About The Position

This role is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing various data center systems, including piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components. The Assistant Facilities Manager ensures environmental and safety standards are met, identifies and resolves problems, and manages performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time. This position also supports the integration of new equipment, supervises on-site teams, responds to emergencies, and produces Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOPs). The role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, inclusive environment.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Understanding of: Power distribution system, Panels, breakers, transformers, Emergency systems (generators, UPS)
  • Ability to: Read electrical schematics.
  • Ability to: Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to: Ensure safety code compliance (NFPA, NEC)
  • Ability to work without supervision and complete assigned task.
  • Knowledge of: HVAC systems (RTUs, Split units, Dry coolers)
  • Knowledge of: Building automation systems.
  • Experience with: Preventive maintenance programs
  • Experience with: Troubleshooting airflow, temperature control issues
  • Experience with: Working with vendors/contractors
  • Familiarity with: Water supply & drainage systems
  • Familiarity with: Pumps, valves, backflow systems
  • Ability to: Manage repairs and leaks efficiently.
  • Able to lift 50-75 lbs, adapt to varying temperatures, crouch, kneel, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
  • Reliable self-transportation.
  • Candidates must be insurable under CleanSpark's vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair various data center systems such as piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical system components.
  • Ensure environmental and safety standards are consistently met, identifying problems, and making repairs quickly.
  • Read blueprints/schematics, conduct tours of systems, and assess their working order.
  • Manage data center performance issues and outages to minimize the recovery time from failures.
  • Support integration of new equipment and systems into facilities infrastructure.
  • Supervise on site teams to ensure quality work and proper labor utilization.
  • Respond to facility specific emergencies.
  • Transportation of tools, equipment, and personnel depending upon operational need.
  • Production of SOPs and MOPs for facility related functions.
  • Additional duties as required.
