About The Position

The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in maintaining the hotel’s facilities, equipment, and building systems. This role helps ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for guests and team members by overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, safety compliance, and daily engineering operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, organization, and customer service skills.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to maintain accurate records.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of facilities, maintenance, engineering, or hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the oversight of daily engineering and maintenance operations.
Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of maintenance staff.
Perform and coordinate repairs involving HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
Manage preventive maintenance programs and ensure timely completion of work orders.
Conduct facility inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.
Support Fire, Life, and Safety programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to obtain bids and oversee maintenance projects.
Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Respond to guest concerns and resolve maintenance-related issues in a timely manner.
Participate in the Manager on Duty program and assist during emergencies as needed.
