About The Position

The Assistant Executive Director is responsible for organizing and directing the agency's ongoing functions, including operational and organizational planning, budgeting, and monitoring progress toward operational and strategic goals. This role ensures that interdisciplinary care is provided while maintaining ethical business and clinical practices. The Assistant Executive Director will direct staff in the performance of duties such as admission, discharge, transfer, revocation, and provision of services to patients, ensuring accurate and timely documentation. They will also ensure appropriate staff supervision during all service hours and that support services are available to staff. This position takes action on reports from regulatory or inspection agencies, ensures adequate space, equipment, and supplies are available, and oversees the completion and maintenance of required reports to the governing body, maintaining an ongoing liaison with it. The role participates in quality improvement activities, ensuring appropriate policies are developed and implemented to accomplish identified outcomes, and ensures timely submission of all documentation. Other duties as required will be performed, ensuring overall compliance with local, state, and federal laws, Medicare regulations, and established personnel policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge in hospice or healthcare operations and sales management
  • Two years of management or supervisory experience in a health-related setting, hospice preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct management personnel
  • Understanding of business processes and systems that support the healthcare industry
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills along with a strong executive presence
  • Good organization, people and problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task many projects and strategies simultaneously

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of business management and a working knowledge of the Medicare Hospice Benefit preferred
  • Experience with EMR/Customer Relationship software is a plus

Responsibilities
