Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of progressive engineering or maintenance experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including CMMS or work order systems
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
  • Physical ability to perform hands-on work and lift up to 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational certification in engineering, HVAC, or a related field
  • Experience in a resort, hotel, hospitality, or commercial environment
  • CMRP or CMRT certification

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily engineering and maintenance operations
  • Train, mentor, and coach engineering team members to drive accountability, growth, and engagement
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and a solutions-focused approach
  • Provide leadership coverage across shifts, including weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations
  • Assist with planning and executing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
  • Perform and oversee repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance
  • Support basic IT and A/V troubleshooting as needed
  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas
  • Assist with capital projects, renovations, and special maintenance initiatives
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, life safety standards, company policies, and local/state/federal codes
  • Assist with safety training, inspections, and compliance documentation
  • Manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and reporting using a CMMS
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections
  • Assist with tracking expenses, managing inventory, and supporting department budgets
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors to ensure quality and safety standards
