Assistant Engineer II - Electrical

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking an electrical engineer to join our team in the Concord, CA or San Francisco, CA. We are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on "all things water." Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in heavy industrial Electrical Engineering and Design
- Familiarity with industrial power distribution system
- Experience in Microsoft Office products
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in water/wastewater industry is desirable
- Experience with SKM or ETAP power system software is desirable
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit BIM software is desirable
- EIT certification is desirable
Responsibilities
- Support the lead electrical engineer on multiple concurrent projects for water and wastewater facilities.
- Prepare project specifications
- Perform conductor sizing, conduit sizing, protective device sizing, lighting, and other electrical calculations
- Coordinate with civil, process-mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, and instrumentation disciplines
- Perform site visits as needed
- Perform electrical design work in AutoCAD and/or Revit as required by the project
- Perform electrical power system studies in SKM and/or ETAP as required by the project
- Review shop drawings and respond to request for information
- Support the lead electrical engineer to perform factory witness testing of electrical equipment as required by the project
