About The Position

Columbia Child Development Program is currently hiring multiple temporary Summer Assistant Educators to support our early childhood classrooms and school-age programs beginning June 8. We are seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals who enjoy creating positive experiences for children in a fun, supportive environment. Assistant Educators work alongside lead teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or a GED certificate and an associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field
• A high school diploma or a GED certificate, and 15 credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and one year of documented experience with children
• A high school diploma or GED certificate and two years of documented experience working with children
• A high school diploma or a GED certificate, some experience working with children
• Must meet all required background clearances and employment requirements

Nice To Haves

• Experience with children preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

• Assisting with classroom activities, play, and learning experiences
• Supporting children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
• Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
• Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
• Encouraging positive behavior and teamwork
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and staff
