About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is a comprehensive non-profit system with the mission of enhancing, every day, the health of our patients, our families and our communities. The Assistant Educator provides support to the Early Childhood Education team, providing care for infants through preschool aged children. The Early Learning Center provides services to approximately 68 early learners ranging in ages from 6 weeks to 5 years next door to the Alfond Center for Health as well as our 40 Glenridge Drive location in Augusta.

Requirements

  • Fingerprinting verification through the State of Maine required
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of Early Childhood Education experience preferred
  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Fosters a safe, nurturing, comfortable environment through clear, positive and encouraging words and actions.
  • Provides for the health and safety of children to ensure constant supervision of the entire group of children as assigned.
  • Assists with activities to meet children's physical, intellectual, social, cultural, creative and emotional needs.
