About The Position

The Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking a part-time assistant teacher who is passionate about supporting children, families, and the community. The role helps provide fun, child-centered, age-appropriate learning experiences in a safe and sensitive childcare environment. The assistant teacher supports curriculum planning and implementation, children’s personal care routines, and quality standards and policies. Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Two years (2,500 hours) of verified childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing dynamic curricula with fun, child-centered, age-appropriate lessons.
• Cultivate a sensitive, patient childcare environment for children and families.
• Maintain a healthy environment through light cleaning and support of children’s personal care routines.
• Supervise children by identifying, seeing, hearing, directing, and assisting them, while ensuring a safe environment.
• Follow YMCA, state, and Quality Rating Systems policies and guidelines to support quality childcare.
