About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region. Your presence with our team is very important as you lend a hand so that our patients get back on their feet as quickly as possible and with as little stress as possible. As a member of our technical support team, you assist animal health technicians and veterinarians during procedures. You ensure the well-being of the patients under your care by reassuring them and practicing restraint during interventions. Permanent position, full-time. The schedule is night, from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. and weekends. Depending on the operational needs of the establishment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the veterinarian and/or health technician in minor procedures
  • Assist the animal health technician in their various tasks (restraint, blood collection, catheter placement, radiography, administration and injection of medications, etc.)
  • Communicate with the animal health technician on the condition of hospitalized patients
  • Maintain cleanliness of consultation rooms, treatment rooms, laboratories
  • Assist in the preparation of analyses (laboratory)
  • Replenish necessary materials for the proper functioning of the hospital (surgeries, consultation rooms, treatment rooms)
  • Instrumentalist and preparation of surgical gowns
  • Assist the customer service representative (answer the phone, escort patients to rooms)
  • Perform pedicures and ear cleanings
  • Participate in meetings or training offered, allowing you to acquire knowledge that may be useful for answering client questions and assisting your colleagues
  • Provide patient care (comfort, cleanliness)
  • Assist during surgeries with anesthesia and monitoring throughout the procedure
  • Take animals out and feed them
  • Perform all other related tasks
