About The Position

The Assistant Division Credit Manager works closely with Sales Center Managers, current and potential customers, and the Divisional Credit Manager to support the credit function. On a daily basis our Assistant Division Credit Manager: Interviews potential new customers to obtain personal and financial data. Reviews credit reports (Experian/D&B). Calls or writes to credit bureaus and personal references to check credit. Establishes credit limits on new and existing accounts, considering such factors as applicant’s assets, credit experience, and personal references. Notifies customer by mail, telephone or in person of acceptance or rejection of application. Creates and maintains credit & COD files. Maintains close relationship with sales center personnel keeping them aware of all situations. Reviews accounts and A/R terms closely with the Sales Center Managers and Divisional Credit Manager. Prepares weekly & monthly credit reports on current findings and action taken for all accounts. Accepts payments on accounts. Evaluates customer records and recommends that accounts be closed, credit limit reduced or extended, or collection attempted, based on earnings and savings data, payment history, and purchase activity of customer. Interviews customers to investigate complaints, verify accuracy of charges, or to correct errors in accounts. Sends letters to customers having delinquent accounts to make payment. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in wholesale/commercial credit and collections.
  • Proficient MS Office skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
