About The Position

The Assistant District Manager helps lead a district — typically under 20 stores — with more hands-on guidance and support than a standalone District Manager role. You coach Store Managers, drive standards and results across your stores, and keep the district compliant and well-run. It's a role built for a strong multi-store leader growing into full district ownership. (Store counts are guidelines; exceptions apply based on market and store complexity.)

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of multi-unit or senior store leadership with responsibility for financial results.
  • Strong coaching, communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Valid driver's licence and vehicle.
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours including days, evenings and weekends.
  • Willing to submit to and successfully obtain provincial cannabis certification / licensing.
  • Must hold — or be able to obtain — the Retail Manager Licence (RML / CRML) required by the AGCO to supervise or manage cannabis retail employees, prior to performing any supervisory duties (Ontario only).
  • Must be of legal age and remain compliant with all provincial licensing, legal and company regulations for working in the cannabis industry.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure stores are open, people are safe, and compliance is upheld at all times.
  • Support the District Manager in setting clear goals, plans and budget targets, and hold stores accountable to them.
  • Coach and mentor Store Managers through regular store visits, feedback and development.
  • Provide guidance on pricing, store layout and promotions to improve location performance.
  • Drive the company mission, vision and values by leading through example.
  • Help develop and standardize process and procedure across the district.
  • Ensure development and training is in place for all personnel within the district.
  • Maintain high-level knowledge of applicable Federal, Provincial and Municipal cannabis regulations; ensure stores stay compliant and flag changes.
  • Act as a liaison between Hub / Head Office initiatives and store operations for seamless rollouts.
  • Build and nurture engaged teams: support performance reviews, turnover metrics, teaching and training.
  • Support succession planning so the team is ready to take on more when required.
  • Support P&L management with strong cost control across the district.
  • Ensure stores are prepared for government inspections (Compliance, OHS, Labour, etc.).
  • Support emergency response and inventory accountability across stores.
  • Support new store openings and acquisitions as required.
