About The Position

As a Dispensary Assistant Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of navigating the evolving landscape of cannabis, offering a unique blend of expertise to cater to both medicinal and adult-use customers. This role involves the strategic selection and management of the store’s team members, fostering strong relationships with both customers and vendors, meticulous oversight of inventory control, and overall supervision of the daily dynamics of store-related matters.

Requirements

  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must consent to a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in retail management, demonstrating proficiency in overseeing a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of state-specific cannabis laws and regulatory compliance is non-negotiable.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Proficiency in basic math is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assume the role of the manager on duty responsible for the daily operations.
  • Actively contribute to revenue growth by implementing strategic sales initiatives and achieving sales targets.
  • Foster a sales-driven culture through effective leadership, training, and motivation of team members.
  • Engage and support cross-selling and upselling efforts to maximize the value of each patient and customer interaction.
  • Collaborate with the team to establish daily goals and ensure objectives are understood.
  • Observe team members' interactions with patients and customers on the sales floor, ensuring productivity and engagement.
  • Assist team members with customer questions and sales to contribute to the overall success of the dispensary.
  • Supervise store operations, including overseeing team member activities and duties, sales floor activities, and resolving escalated customer service matters.
  • Daily balancing of cash and product inventory, along with providing training to team members on reconciliation procedures.
  • Monitor dispensary sales and inventory levels and provide feedback to the Dispensary Manager to track store trends.
  • Ensure strict adherence to local and state laws and regulations through the enforcement of company policies and procedures.
  • Audit patient intake for accuracy and completeness to ensure recordkeeping standards are met.
  • Perform audits on cash handling records, chain of custody documents, and waste disposal logs.
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring process, including participation in candidate interviews, and providing recommendations for hiring decisions.
  • Advise on staffing needs and scheduling team members, including preparation of store schedules.
  • Conduct random audits on cash and/or product, ensuring that daily balancing of cash and product aligns with both company and regulatory policies.
  • Analyze incident reports in conjunction with the management team to identify areas for improvement and take proactive measures.
  • Oversee and execute daily and/or monthly product inventory assessments to track and manage inventory effectively.
  • Conduct comprehensive training sessions for team members, covering retail operations, patient/caregiver services, HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, and proficiency in retail inventory management and point of sale platforms.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for team members, offering guidance on product knowledge and dosing.
  • Provide direction and ensure team members’ adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance with state and local laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Dispensary Manager to establish short- and long-term objectives and action items for the store.
  • Lead and conduct the initial training for new hires with support from Human Resources and Delivery Lead.
  • Oversee and co-manage the Dispensary Team, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Assess and recommend team members for advancement opportunities.
  • Assist in team member evaluations, providing verbal feedback, recommendations for progressive disciplinary action, and separation, when necessary, consistent with company policies and procedures, and conducting periodic performance reviews.
  • Active participation in weekly management meetings to foster collaboration and information exchange.
