About The Position

The Assistant Director shares responsibility with the School Director for the safe and effective operation of the school and for achieving Learning Care Group’s safety vision. When the Director is absent, the Assistant Director has sole responsibility for the school. The role also supports children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.

The Assistant Director helps ensure the school meets company and state licensing standards; fosters an educational, caring, and safe environment for children and parents; encourages children’s imagination, self-esteem, and discovery; promotes the company’s positive image in the community; recruits, selects, and retains quality staff; and helps the company achieve profitability.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have at least 2 years of Assistant Director experience in a licensed child care facility.
• Must meet state education requirements and center/school requirements.
• Must have a North Carolina level 1, 2, or 3 credential.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a related field is preferred.
