About The Position

The Assistant Director is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the school in partnership with the School Director, supporting Learning Care Group’s safety vision. In the Director’s absence, the Assistant Director has sole responsibility for the school. The role also assists in promoting children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.

The Assistant Director helps ensure compliance with company and state licensing standards; fosters an educational, caring, and safe environment for children and parents; encourages children’s imagination, self-esteem, and discovery; promotes the company’s image in the community; recruits, selects, and retains quality staff; and helps achieve company profitability.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Previous leadership experience.
• At least one year of experience working in a licensed childcare facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state education requirements and the center/school’s requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the school operates in accordance with company and state licensing standards.
• Foster an educational, caring, and safe environment for children and parents.
• Encourage children’s imagination, build self-esteem, and help them discover new things.
• Promote a positive image of the company and help make it a provider of choice in the communities served.
• Recruit, select, and retain quality staff.
• Help achieve profitability for the company.
• Share responsibility for the safe and effective operation of the school with the School Director and assume sole responsibility in the Director’s absence.
• Assist in promoting children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth.
