The Assistant Director is responsible for the overall daily operations of shifts and the accountability and supervision of all line staff. They maintain full responsibility for program operations in the Director's absence. This role ensures that log entries, incident reports, and security checks are accurate and complete. The Assistant Director is also involved in training and supervising shift supervisors on Spectrum/DYS policies and procedures, assisting the Program Director in training and orientation of new staff, planning manager and staff meetings, and participating fully in the On-Call Coverage System. Crisis management, interviewing and hiring program staff in concert with the Program Director, and participating in internal investigations of serious residential incidents are also key responsibilities.
