The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a creative, committed, and collaborative professional to serve as Assistant Director in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. This admissions officer will counsel students, parents, and school and community colleagues about how students may explore whether Carolina will be a good match for their talents and aspirations, apply for admission and student aid, and thrive once enrolled. In addition to representing the University at on- and off-campus events, the assistant director will collaborate with colleagues in admissions and other campus departments to develop and implement innovative methods of recruiting students whose talent, temperament, and perspective of thought and experience will contribute to the education of everyone in the UNC community and help the University achieve its mission. The successful candidate will demonstrate an outstanding ability to plan, lead, and collaborate with others; think critically and strategically; care for students, families, and other constituents; identify and assess opportunities to recruit students and form partnerships; provide comprehensive and individual evaluation of student credentials within a highly competitive pool; and speak and write clearly and persuasively. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a strong commitment to Carolina’s mission, a keen interest in the identification and recruitment of a talented student body, and an ability to work effectively with colleagues who have many backgrounds and perspectives.
