About The Position

Embrace Life Child Care is looking for a Assistant Director to join our team at our child care center in Edwards, IL. The Assistant Director will be under the direct supervision of the Center Director and will be responsible for assisting with the following responsibilities: ensuring the center stays in compliance with all licensing standards and Head Start standards, maintaining the proper staffing structure and ratios, providing the teaching staff with proper guidance and leadership, supporting students development and learning, providing families a high quality experience, and maintaining good communication with the center's executive team. The Assistant Director will be in a classroom most of the time, and assist the Center Director with administrative functions on an as needed basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong Christian Faith , and a background in child development, family or child care, experience in providing high quality services and knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements. Requirements

  • Experience in a Daycare Center teaching and management preferred.
  • Experience Leading Daycare Teachers and Staff
  • High Availability, Innovative & Responsive
  • Experience with DCFS Representative Interactions, Approvals and Audits
  • Flexibility with Changing Tasks.
  • Strong Sense of Accountability with Tasks and Responsibilities.
  • Early Childhood Education Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years of high quality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Trusted collaborator with the Center Director
  • Assist the Center Director with daily daycare operations and all that is involved with the daycare center.
  • Assist the Center Director with hiring, training, supervising, and managing schedules of Daycare Staff
  • Help oversee curriculum programs and standards
  • Maintains accurate Student and Staff Files
  • Develops and maintains parent/caretaker rapport
  • Licensing and Facility Management including but not limited to DCFS Licensing, inspections, permits, compliance and maintenance
