About The Position

We’re looking for an Assistant Director to support the launch and daily operations of our new Lightbridge Academy location. This is a key leadership role where you’ll help build a strong team, ensure educational excellence, and create an environment where children, families, and staff thrive. As Assistant Director, you’ll work closely with the Center Director and owner to bring the center to life and keep it running at a high level. This opportunity offers the chance to be part of a launch, gain hands-on leadership experience with a clear path to Center Director, work alongside ownership and Lightbridge Academy’s corporate team, make a community impact, and engage in purpose-driven work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Early Childhood Education or related field)
  • Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role in a licensed childcare program
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to coach and develop teachers into confident, high-performing educators
  • A balance of operational mindset and genuine care for children and families
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations: Help ensure the center meets all licensing, safety, and quality standards while maintaining a smooth and efficient day-to-day flow
  • Lead and develop teachers: Coach, mentor, and inspire staff to deliver engaging, high-quality classroom experiences
  • Drive educational excellence: Oversee curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and student progress to ensure consistent, high-quality learning outcomes
  • Be a culture builder: Help create a positive, collaborative, and professional environment where staff feel supported and empowered
  • Partner with families: Build strong relationships with parents, provide exceptional customer service, and create a welcoming experience for every family
  • Support hiring and onboarding: Assist with recruiting, training, and developing a strong, passionate team from the ground up
  • Contribute to growth: Participate in marketing efforts, community outreach, and enrollment initiatives
  • Step into leadership when needed: Confidently lead the center in the Director’s absence and support key decision-making
