About The Position

This role at Sonoma State University involves developing and implementing student-centered programs focused on curriculum and teaching. The Assistant Director will oversee program operations, manage the budget, and ensure compliance with university and agency policies. Requirements

  • Minimum of four years' experience in personnel supervision and evaluation.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in program development and evaluation.
  • Minimum of four years' experience in fiscal management.
  • Four years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high school aged students.
  • Aptitude in management, supervision, strategic planning, project management and program implementation.
  • Ability to adapt to change in the work environment.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and competing demands.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to design and implement formative and summative evaluation strategies.
  • High level of proficiency with computer applications including Google Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets and MS Word).
  • Successful completion of a live scan fingerprinting for Sonoma State University, including a live scan fingerprinting at the assigned school site location and TB test.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Possession of a valid California Teaching or Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential.
  • Experience working with TRiO Upward Bound or Talent Search programs.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of Google Suite, Aeries, student information system and PeopleSoft.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
