About The Position

The Assistant Director for Strategic Communications serves as the primary contact for men's basketball and other varsity athletic teams at Boston University, an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Patriot League and Hockey East. The position handles publicity and public relations for assigned teams, coaches, and student-athletes, primarily through GoTerriers.com and social media platforms. A major component of the role is contributing to the creative unit within MarCom to enhance outreach and engagement with fans, alumni, parents, media, and current and prospective student-athletes. The position also manages and distributes statistics, photos, videos, and written materials—including biographies, recaps, and previews—to tell the stories of the department, its student-athletes, and staff. MarCom includes communications, marketing, and video (broadcasts and social media), and the successful candidate should be prepared to contribute to and be highly involved with all three areas.
