About The Position

The Assistant Director Sport & Facility, Athletics Operations is responsible for the ordering, inventory, issuance, use, maintenance, and laundering of athletic department equipment and apparel for assigned sports, adhering to all NCAA, MAC, and Miami University policies. This role is located at Millett Hall.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Sports/Athletic Administration, Physical Education, Game Operations, or Athletic Facility Management
  • Less than 12 months of experience
  • AEMA Certified (Athletic Equipment Managers Association)
  • Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge/skills/abilities listed above may be substituted.
  • Experience in these knowledge/skills/abilities may be earned concurrently.
  • Some knowledge of supplies, equipment and/or services ordering and inventory control
  • Excellent organizational and personal communication skills
  • Demonstrate computer literacy/proficiency
  • A criminal background check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Issue athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location and athletic teams (25%)
  • Prepare & order athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location within fiscal resources allocated. (15%)
  • Maintenance & Repair of athletic equipment, apparel and locker rooms for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (15%)
  • Inventory of athletic equipment & apparel for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (10%)
  • Launder athletic equipment, apparel, sports medicine supplies, and game operations supplies for assigned/specified teams for assigned location. (20%)
  • Assist in assigned/specified teams sports equipment budget & billing. Assist/build and grow relationships with on campus and external vendors. (5%)
  • Supervise, train, develop, & budget assigned student managers. (10%)
