About The Position

The Assistant Director of Residence Life & Housing Services plays a key leadership role in shaping a dynamic, safe, and student-centered residential experience. Reporting to the Director of Residence Life & Housing Services, this position provides oversight of housing operations, student engagement initiatives, and residential life programs that support student success and retention. This role leads the administration of housing assignments and management of housing systems, while also contributing to strategic planning, process improvement, and data-informed decision-making. The Assistant Director collaborates across campus partners to support recruitment efforts, orientation programming, and communication with students and families.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, College Student Personnel, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years post-master’s full-time with significant progressively responsible experience in the administration of student personnel, student housing, residential life programs and supervision of staff.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Flexibility to work on several projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity in working with confidential matters.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement and analytical skills, attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, and ability to work under pressure with a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven commitment to working with a diverse student population.
  • Significant experience in programming coordination and management.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with StarRez, Maxient, and Microsoft Office Suites strongly preferred.
