About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the strategy, execution, and performance of paid search campaigns across a diverse client portfolio (e-commerce and B2B), while managing and mentoring a team of paid search marketers. The Assistant Director will drive innovation, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure Avenue Z’s paid search offering remains best-in-class.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in paid search, with at least 2 years in a team leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, multi-channel paid search campaigns for e-commerce and B2B clients.
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads, Bing Ads, Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and related tools.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team.
  • Effective project management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with technical integrations (e.g., Hubspot, Shopify) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of paid search strategies for key accounts, ensuring alignment with client business objectives and Avenue Z’s performance standards.
  • Oversee campaign planning, budget allocation, and performance optimization across Google Ads, Bing Ads, and other relevant platforms.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and drive innovation.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for high-value clients, providing strategic counsel and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Lead client presentations, QBRs, and performance reviews, translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with account management, analytics, and creative teams to deliver integrated marketing solutions.
  • Implement and refine internal processes for campaign management, reporting, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee the integration of technical tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Hubspot, Shopify) to support campaign success.
  • Ensure compliance with Avenue Z’s standards for data integrity, reporting accuracy, and campaign documentation.
  • Set and monitor KPIs for the paid search team and client accounts, driving accountability for results.
  • Conduct regular audits of campaign performance, identifying opportunities for scaling and efficiency.
  • Lead the development of case studies and internal knowledge sharing.
