Assistant Director of UREC Sports

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education, student affairs, higher education, sport management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
- At least two years of full time, professional work experience in collegiate recreation and intramural sports, club sports program administration or related field.
- Supervisory experience with student and graduate assistant staff.
- Knowledge of membership and facility management software.
- Knowledge of risk management policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of current recreation programming trends and issues.
- Ability to balance multiple assignments, deadlines, and tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in recreation, physical education, student affairs, higher education, sport management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience developing and implementing recreation programs that effectively meet the needs of students or other populations.
- Experience in the training and supervision of multiple part-time staff with emphasis on intramural sports officials and supervisors.
- Active involvement in campus recreation and/or higher education professional organizations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all aspects of UREC Sports (Club and Intramural Sports).
- Directly manages club sports.
- Provides leadership and guidance to intramural support staff.
- Supervises full-time and part-time staff.
- Manages the annual budget.
- Evaluates compliance in program area risk management practices.
- Assists with the strategic plan and vision for UREC Sports.
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty.
- Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
