About The Position

As the Assistant Director of Training and Development, you will report to the Chief Human Resources Officer, leading staff professional development programs, facilitating Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Biblical Diversity workshops, and equipping campus leaders. This role blends practical workplace tools with scriptural principles to help the community navigate cultural differences, build stronger working relationships, and live out shared faith in the workplace. You will play a vital part in Bethel’s mission to educate and equip students in a Christ-centered community. As a member of the staff, you serve as a minister of the gospel by helping employees grow in their careers, build strong leadership skills, and foster a welcoming, culturally intelligent campus environment where everyone can thrive. This is an in-person role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, communication, education, leadership or a related degree.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Experience creating and delivering engaging curriculum across in-person, online, and asynchronous environments, ideally with exposure to Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Skill in partnering with leadership to align professional development with organizational culture and strategy.
  • Familiarity with organizational culture development, change management, internal communications, or cross-cultural engagement principles.
  • Strong ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, build authentic relationships, and manage multiple priorities with clarity and composure.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with campus leaders to identify, design, and deliver impactful staff and faculty training programs.
  • Create and run engaging workshops, onboarding programs, and ongoing professional development sessions across various learning formats (in-person, online, asynchronous).
  • Build practical learning tools, guides, and accessible digital resources.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through feedback and metrics to continuously enhance learning initiatives.
  • Design and deliver customer service training that empowers teams to provide excellent, welcoming support across campus.
  • Develop training cohorts and workshops designed to equip supervisors and team leaders.
  • Teach practical workplace skills, including clear communication, conflict resolution, and healthy team management.
  • Facilitate interactive campus workshops on Cultural Intelligence (CQ) and Biblical Diversity, using scriptural foundations alongside CQ principles to foster strong cross-cultural relationships.
  • Administer individual and team CQ assessments, providing thoughtful debriefs and personal growth plans for staff.
  • Partner with department leaders to address specific team dynamics and custom training needs.
  • Support campus-wide culture events and strategic HR projects as needed.
