About The Position

The Assistant Director of Student Engagement is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a variety of large-scale student programs and traditions at Florida Tech. This role provides full support to the Panther Peer Mentor Program, Student Life events and programs, oversees signature events such as the Trip Series, Family Weekend, and other large-scale programs, and develops initiatives that enhance student leadership and engagement. The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with campus partners, students, and external stakeholders to deliver experiences that strengthen school spirit, community, and belonging.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by major campus events.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in student programming, Greek Life advising, or campus event planning strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of large campus programs, including Trip Series, Family Weekend, and other university-wide events.
  • Provide comprehensive advising and support to all students involved in the Panther Peer Mentor Program.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate leadership training opportunities for student leaders across clubs, organizations, and councils.
  • Assess and evaluate programs to ensure continuous improvement, student engagement, and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to maximize student impact while maintaining fiscal responsibility.
  • Manage, lead, and facilitate marketing and communications for Dean of Students Office and Student Life including social media.
  • Plans, prepares and creates the Civic Engagement Program.
  • Ensure all programs and events adhere to university policies, risk management guidelines, and safety standards.
  • Maintain and manage the Civic Engagement Tracking System and Campus Partnerships with the Coordinator of Student Life.
