About The Position

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, the Assistant/Associate Directors of Sports Medicine assist with implementing and maintaining a safe and inclusive environment with a focus on the delivery of healthcare to student-athletes, tracking prevention of injuries, emergency medical preparedness, progressive management of injuries, and rehabilitation under established protocols. The Athletic Training position will be responsible for supervising graduate athletic training students and certified athletic training interns in professional preparation positions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution with an Athletic Training, Kinesiology, or Health-related major course of study if the applicant did not attend a MSAT program.
  • Experience as an athletic trainer at the collegiate level.
  • NATA BOC Certification.
  • Familiarity with NCAA best practices regarding supplements and health and safety of student-athletes.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team physicians, coaches, staff, faculty, students, and members of the community.
  • Ability to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work confidently and effectively in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to exercise professional independent judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to perform all duties with integrity and professionalism.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights/weekends.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position.
