About The Position

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking an Assistant Director of Sports Medicine. The position assists the Associate Directors of Sports Medicine and the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine in providing athletic training services, including prevention, care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for 16 intercollegiate sports and spirit squads.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Current BOC certification.
• Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners Athletic Training Licensure, or eligibility for licensure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.
• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others, and commitment to working with multicultural populations.
• Strong work ethic and high integrity and character, with a commitment to knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules applicable to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.
• Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Experience working with college student-athletes in men's and women's sports.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Associate Director of Athletics for Sports Medicine in supervising the Athletic Training Room.
• Provide first aid and emergency care for athletic-related injuries.
• Assist with home and away events.
• Maintain medical and insurance records.
• Maintain inventory and supplies.
• Recruit and supervise student workers.
• May include teaching duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
