About The Position

The Assistant Director of Revenue Management plays a critical leadership role in driving revenue optimization for a Forbes Five-Star luxury resort. This position is responsible for executing sophisticated revenue strategies with precision, agility, and analytical excellence, ensuring alignment with Marriott’s commercial standards and brand expectations. Serving as a strategic and operational partner to the Director of Revenue Management, this role translates enterprise strategy into disciplined daily execution across pricing, inventory, and distribution. The ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of luxury demand dynamics, a commitment to data-driven decision-making, and a passion for delivering exceptional financial performance while preserving brand integrity.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive revenue management experience within luxury or ultra-luxury hotels/resorts.
  • 4–7+ years of progressive revenue management experience, ideally within luxury or resort environments.
  • Strong proficiency in Marriott systems, including One Yield, OPERA PMS, and HPP preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities with experience handling complex data sets.
  • Proven ability to independently manage pricing and inventory decisions.
  • Strong business acumen, attention to detail, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Programs including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Office.
  • Ability to use Opera, Marsha, Marriott Operating system and other reservations program.
  • Ability to use various office equipment including but not limited to telephone, calculator, photocopier, and facsimile machine.
  • Ability to sit in a confined area for the duration of a nine-hour shift; walks throughout the resort to meet with other departments or attend scheduled meetings.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively deal with customers, some requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, FAX machines, photocopiers, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Ability to effectively deal with partners and customers, some requiring high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information.
  • Ability to speak, read, listen and write effectively in the English language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, fellow managers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies to optimize ADR, RevPAR, and Total Revenue (TRev3RevPAR).
  • Maintain real-time awareness of market dynamics, demand patterns, and competitive positioning.
  • Ensure flawless rate execution and system integrity across all Marriott and third-party platforms.
  • Oversee daily operations of the reservations office, ensuring accurate booking management, timely responses to inquiries, and high-quality customer service standards are consistently met.
  • Serve as acting leader of the Revenue Management function in the absence of the Director.
  • Monitor competitive intelligence and respond proactively to market shifts.
  • Anticipate demand inflection points and capitalize on compression periods.
  • Identify demand trends and revenue opportunities.
  • Drive strategies to outperform luxury competitors.
  • Analyze booking trends, segmentation performance, and demand drivers to inform strategy.
  • Prepare and contribute to weekly, monthly, and long-range forecasts in alignment with Mauna Kea Resort standards.
  • Identify revenue opportunities and potential risks, providing clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Support annual budgeting and long-term strategic planning processes.
  • Oversee performance and optimization of RMS (One Yield), OPERA PMS, Mariott HPP and channel management systems.
  • Optimize channel mix to prioritize direct and high-margin channels.
  • Develop and maintain rate programs within Marriott systems in alignment with brand and distribution strategies.
  • Ensure rate parity, accurate content, and seamless connectivity across all channels.
  • Assist with Group maintenance and performance, including OPERA, CI.TY and PASSKEY systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues impacting revenue performance.
  • Maintain the highest standards of data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reporting aligned with Mauna Kea Resort reporting standards.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, RGI, and channel contribution.
  • Translate data into meaningful insights that inform strategic decisions at the executive level.
  • Attend Weekly Executive Committee Meetings.
  • Attend Hotel Managers’ Meetings.
