Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a related field.
Two (2) years of professional business, financial, and/or managerial work experience. (A Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

Possession of a current Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) from The Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC), or a current Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) certificate, Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM)

Responsibilities

Administration of the buying and contracting function of Purchasing, including supervision and performance management of staff.
Meeting the purchasing requirements of all SIUE departments in adherence to the Illinois Procurement Code and Board of Trustees policies.
Serving as the contracts manager for the department.
Providing guidance for major purchase categories and complex bids.
Reviewing and signing purchase orders over the legal bid limit.
Developing and conducting trainings and seminars on purchasing procedures and regulations.
