About The Position

The Assistant Director of Player Personnel plays a crucial role within the Carolina Football Program with responsibility for supporting the Director of Player Personnel in managing player recruitment and development. This role involves extensive travel across the United States to scout and recruit talent, ensuring the team acquires the best players to meet its strategic goals. Meet with coaches and other sports professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, business, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in scouting, recruiting, or player personnel management, preferably within college or professional football.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective analytical skills to evaluate player performance and potential and make strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and travel schedules.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with players, coaches, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using scouting software and data analysis tools.
  • In-depth understanding of football rules, strategies, and player development.
  • Knowledge and compliance with all NCAA , ACC rules and regulations, staying up to date on changes.
  • Knowledge of scouting techniques and evaluation criteria.
  • Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified students.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in video analysis breakdown and reporting for intercollegiate football.
  • Experience working in an FBS intercollegiate office.

Responsibilities

  • Identify prospects for assistant coaches to evaluate and assist with all steps of the evaluation workflow.
  • Oversee creation of evaluation tapes for prospects and coordinate recruiting assignments and travel for offensive position coaches.
  • Management of data input into JumpForward database and XOS for recruiting and compliance purposes.
  • Conduct research, analysis and reports information on all prospects to coaches.
  • Coordinates relevant functions that require access to information on potential student-athletes.
  • Manage recruiting creative graphics.
  • Provide assistance with recruiting activities and other football program functions, as permitted by NCAA rules and policies governing non-coaching staff members.
  • Encourage and promote excellence in academics, athletics, and life-skills to student athletes.
  • Abide by all UNC , ACC , and NCAA regulations.
