Assistant Director of Nursing
About The Position
CareOne at Ridgewood Avenue is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing for their facility in Paramus, NJ. This role involves assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department, ensuring quality standards of care, and supporting regulatory compliance. The position also focuses on promoting positive employee relations, customer service, and ongoing staff education. The Assistant Director may oversee the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and is responsible for the integrity of educational programs and staff development, including mentoring employees for leadership positions.
Requirements
- At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
- Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.
- Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist the DON in the management of the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care.
- Provide consultation to medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing service.
- Provide input into the interpretation of nursing philosophy and assist in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
- Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance.
- Ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
- Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic, and commitment to ongoing staff education and training.
- May exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Ensure integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
- Identify current employees to be mentored into both personal and career advancement towards leadership positions within the corporation.
