About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will support and supervise the nursing team, ensuring residents receive top-tier care. This role involves making clinical decisions, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring medications and treatment plans, assisting with departmental operations like budgeting and scheduling, and hiring, training, and mentoring staff. The ADON will also play a key role in quality assurance, surveys, safety compliance, and maintaining communication with physicians and the Medical Director. A strong understanding of state regulations is essential.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited school (RN required).
  • Valid RN license in the state of Illinois (or ability to obtain one).
  • 3+ years of experience as an ADON in long-term care.
  • 1–3 years of supervisory experience in skilled, acute, restorative, or geriatric care.
  • Knowledge of MDS, care planning, and regulatory processes.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to run reports, enter data, etc.
  • Passion for people, purpose, and providing the best care possible.

  • Maintaining close contact with physicians and the Medical Director for seamless care.
  • Ensuring compliance with state regulations.
