Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) (Registered Nurse/RN)
About The Position
Life Care Center of Longmont, part of Life Care Centers of America, is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for their 187-bed skilled nursing facility. The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing the Nursing Services department to ensure high-quality patient care in compliance with all laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. The facility has received numerous accolades, including US News & World Report's Best Nursing Homes, "800 Club" membership, a 5-Star CMS Rating for Quality Measures, and a 4.8 Google star rating. This position requires on-call availability and offers opportunities for professional growth.
Requirements
- ASN or BSN from accredited college or university
- Currently licensed/registered in applicable State.
- Must maintain an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing throughout employment.
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice To Haves
- Two (2) years' geriatric nursing experience preferred, preferably in post-acute care.
Responsibilities
- Assists the DON in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Nursing Services department.
- Ensures the highest degree of quality patient care in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
- Maintains a liaison with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs.
- Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Implements and interprets the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
- Performs proficiently in all competency areas including nursing care, supervisory responsibilities, infection control, patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
- Maintains professional working relationships with associates and vendors.
- Assists the DON in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Nursing Services department.
- Interviews, selects, hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises nursing staff.
- Oversees care provided by nursing staff.
- Oversees infection control responsibilities.
- Assumes the duties of the DON in his or her absence.
- Provides direct nursing care as necessary.
- Performs functions of a staff nurse as required.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
- Assists in the evacuation of patients.
- Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance.
- Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment.
- Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team.
