About The Position

WesleyLife is hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), RN, for Heritage House. The ADON collaborates with the Director of Nursing (DON) to provide nursing leadership within long-term care and skilled households. The role supports resident care, staff development and supervision, staffing coordination, regulatory surveys, infection control, operational efficiency, and quality improvement. The position requires an Iowa-licensed Registered Nurse and is based at Heritage House, 1200 Brookridge Cir, Atlantic, IA 50022.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Iowa.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations, quality assurance, compliance, and clinical practices.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills to develop and supervise nursing personnel in a team environment.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, and skilled in effective delegation.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the DON on overall nursing leadership within long-term care and skilled households.
• Provide ongoing training, support, and supervision to employees.
• Assist in evaluating the health care services needed for each resident.
• Assist with oversight of staffing schedules.
• Schedule and conduct in-service meetings for staff.
• Prepare for and participate in surveys and inspections conducted by authorized government agencies.
• Partner with the DON to improve nursing operational efficiency.
• Oversee the infection control program and reporting.
• Communicate with physicians, family members, and others regarding resident status as appropriate.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Audit the skills of nursing staff.
