About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes providing consultation to medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator on nursing service matters, and contributing to the interpretation of nursing philosophy and departmental goals. The role involves assisting with regulatory compliance, ensuring effective communication among nursing staff for optimal care delivery, and promoting positive employee relations, customer service, and staff education. The Assistant Director may also oversee the department in the Director's absence and ensure the integrity of educational programs. A key aspect of the role is staff development, identifying and mentoring employees for leadership positions within the corporation.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
  • Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
  • Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance.

  • Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic, and commitment to ongoing staff education and training.
  • Exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
  • Ensure integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
  • Identify current employees to be mentored into both personal and career advancement towards leadership positions within the corporation.
