About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in managing the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes providing consultation to medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator regarding nursing services, and contributing to the interpretation of nursing philosophy and the establishment of departmental goals. The role involves assisting the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensuring effective communication among nursing staff for optimal care delivery. Additionally, the Assistant Director will promote positive employee relations, a strong customer service ethic, and a commitment to ongoing staff education and training. This position may involve directing the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and ensuring the integrity of educational programs within the facility. A key aspect of the role is staff development, identifying current employees for mentorship into leadership positions within the corporation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
• Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the DON in the management of the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care.
• Provide consultation to medical staff, department heads, and Administrator in matters related to nursing service.
• Provide input into interpretation of nursing philosophy and assist in establishing departmental goals and objectives.
• Assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance.
• Ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery.
• Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training.
• Exercise direction over the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
• Ensure integrity of educational programs offered within the facility.
• Identify current employees to be mentored into both personal and career advancement towards leadership position within the corporation.
