About The Position

The Assistant Director of Nursing will be responsible for assisting the DON in the management of the nursing department to maintain quality standards of care. This includes consultation to medical staff, department heads, and the Administrator in matters related to nursing service. The role provides input into the interpretation of nursing philosophy and assists in establishing departmental goals and objectives. The Assistant Director of Nursing will also assist the Director of Nursing with regulatory compliance and ensure effective communication strategies with all levels of nursing staff to promote effective care delivery. Additionally, they will promote positive employee relations, a strong customer service ethic, and a commitment to ongoing staff education and training. The position may involve directing the department in the absence of the Director of Nursing and ensuring the integrity of educational programs offered within the facility. A key aspect of the role is staff development, identifying current employees for mentorship into leadership positions within the corporation.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years nursing supervisory experience required.
  • Travel as required for regional or corporate meetings and marketing duties.
  • Currently licensed as RN in state of practice.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of long-term or acute health care experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
