About The Position

Ovation Communities is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to assist the Director of Nursing (DON) with the administration of assigned nursing units, including policy development, organizational planning and the direction of the delivery of geriatric care as well as the development and monitoring of standards of gerontological nursing practice. This role also oversees the rehabilitation floor, managing day-to-day tasks and oversight.

Requirements

Minimum of two years supervisory experience and/or education as a nurse leader
High school diploma or equivalent
RN Degree
Current licensure in the State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse
Must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion.
Read, write and speak the English language.

Responsibilities

Manage rehabilitation floor.
Develops, updates, evaluates and monitors staff compliance with nursing service objectives, standards of nursing practice, nursing policy and procedure manuals, written job descriptions and State, Federal of JCAHO regulations; in-services staff to above when necessary.
Assist the Director of Nursing in day-to-day functions of the Nursing department, in accordance with all organizational policies and practices and applicable state and federal laws.
Collaborates to develop methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of residents total care.
Makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing as necessary concerning operations of the Nursing department.
Completes administrative functions, including receiving and recording physician orders; completing medical forms, reports, forms, evaluations and other necessary documentation.
Helps with any admissions, transfers and discharges.
